Another major esports tournament, Rainbow Six Sweden Major, is arriving in Europe next month.
R6 Sweden Major: Schedule, teams, prize pool, how to watch, more

Earlier this month, publisher Ubisoft announced that they would be bringing the Rainbow Six Major 2021 to Sweden for the first time. Originally intended to be held in Asia, the organisers had to make the decision to switch locations as a result of the ongoing pandemic restrictions.

With the third and final Rainbow Six Major event to be held in Gävle in November, 16 of the best Rainbow Six Siege teams are awaiting to battle for a grand prize pool of $500,000 and Six Invitational points up for grabs. Here's what we know so far about the next Rainbow Six Sweden Major in 2022, from schedule to prize pool and more.

Rainbow Six Sweden Major 2021 schedule and format

According to a blog post on the official Rainbow Six esports website, the Six Sweden Major will follow the “same competitive format” used for the Rainbow Six Mexico Major. The group stages will first run from 8th to 10th November 2021 in a double round-robin style match.

From the group stages, the top two teams from each group will move forward to the playoffs starting two days later, on 12th November 2021. These teams will face off in the best of three elimination-style matches to set up the grand final.

Furthermore, Ubisoft has outlined that this Six Sweden Major will be taking place as a “LAN event with no on-site audience following strict sanitary restrictions”. This is done to ensure the health and safety of all event personnel, pro players, additional staff and event partners on-site during the tournament.

“We are currently working on the sanitary protocol for the event, following guidelines from health organisations and local authorities, and monitoring the current situations to ensure all appropriate actions are taken,” Ubisoft added.

How to watch Rainbow Six Sweden Major 2021

All matches in the Six Major Sweden will be broadcasted live on the Rainbow Six Twitch channel. Ubisoft is yet to announce dates and times for all matches taking place during the competition.

If we were to look back on the previous Rainbow Six Major events, it’s safe to assume that all the group stage matches will be running simultaneously. As such, for any games that will not be broadcasted on the main Rainbow Six channel, be sure to catch them on the Rainbow Six Bravo channel on Twitch.

Rainbow Six Sweden Major 2021 qualified teams

As mentioned before, 16 teams from around the world (four from each region) will participate in the Six Sweden Major next month.
