Coming straight out of the shadows; Ubisoft released mid-season information surrounding future Year 8 Season 4 details, including playlists, balancing details, controller remapping, and more exciting changes. It feels like a long while since the release of Year 8 Season 3 of Rainbow Six Siege, so new updates and changes are going to be met with open arms!

New Rainbow Six Siege Y8S4 Details

Ubisoft released details of the upcoming season, mentioning several new changes coming to the title upon season four's release, here are all the changes and new content:

  • A New confirmed map coming in Y8S4
  • New versus AI Playlist
  • Revamped Shield Mechanism: Coming mid-season
  • Controller Remapping
  • Updated frag grenades
  • New ranked requirements: Coming in Year 9
  • Privacy mode on consoles: Cancelled, no longer coming to R6S

This season players will have the opportunity to experience a new versus AI playlist, apparently being "tailored" to let new players sharpen their skills against specially AI-trained "defender bots." This new AI playlist will surely level up the player-base's skills to much further heights than we have already experienced; slightly worrying news!

Controller remapping will be implemented to ensure console players have the smoothest gaming experience possible on Rainbow Six Siege. The developers have planned to implement new changes on controllers to ensure console players have maximum comfort whilst using handheld devices, which is a long-requested change by the R6S community.

Ubisoft has mentioned the new map provides "fresh avenues for strategic possibilities like never before," slightly dancing around the subject and not disclosing further details. Despite the vague remarks about the new content, at least it's been confirmed.
