Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 1 Release Date Speculation
With Rainbow Six Siege Y8S4 Operation Deep Freeze having launched on December 6, following a delay from November 28, players are now looking ahead to the release of Y9S1. Deep Freeze is the final seasonal update for Year 8, so we know Year 9 is just around the corner — the question is when?
Y8S4 Operation Deep Freeze is expected to end on March 11, 2024, though this date is subject to change as we head closer to the window. Y9S1 is expected to begin immediately after, either on March 11, 2024 or the following day, on March 12.
At the time of writing, it's unclear what the next season will be called. Given that it's a new year, we can likely expect Ubisoft to kick off with something exciting that likerly shapes the seasons to come throughout Year 9. We'll be sure to update this article as more information is made available.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 1 Content
So far, Ubisoft has kept their plans for Y9S1 under wraps. It's no surprise given how relatively fresh the Y8S4 content is. Naturally players, leakers and more have all been heavily speculating over what nationality the new operator will be, with some posts pointing to an American operator.
Y8S4 brought players Tubarão, a Portuguese operator who has some uniquely cold abilities at his disposal, such as the Zoto Canister. This throwable device slows enemies and freezes devices to keep his team a few steps ahead.
Should Y9S1 introduce a new American operator, it's likely that some of the additional new features could also adopt the same themeing. Perhaps a new map set in the US, or somewhere related. Whatever Ubisoft rolls out, players can expect the usual round of balance changes and updates to hit Rainbow Six Siege.
Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace
Ubisoft has also been working on the Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace, where players will be able to exchange items for R6 Credits or past weapon skins. So far, players have only had the chance to sign up to the Marketplace Beta. Ubisoft previously mentioned that the Marketplace would launch in Y9 — whether that means the full feature in Y9S1, or just the Beta, remains to be seen.
