Top Weapon Mods Explained in Remnant 2

Hot Shot

Hot Shot is not just one of the first weapon mods you can get in Remnant 2, it's also one of the most effective ones. Most enemies, including bosses, are weak to fire elemental damage, and using Hot Shot can give you the much-needed advantage. While you can use it with long guns and other heavy weapons, we recommend equipping it on a high-fire rate handgun to inflict burn more quickly on enemies.

Corrosive Rounds

If you don't fancy fire but still want to deal elemental damage, Corrosive Rounds is a great choice, especially if you have a ranged crit-build. Aside from inflicting the Corroded status effect on enemies, this mod can also increase ranged critical chance by 15%. We can't recommend this enough for ad-clearing.

Fargazer

Fargazer's potency depends on your playstyle. If you're using Hunter, Gunslinger, or any of the support Archetypes, you have more chance of effectively using Fargazer than someone running with Challenger or Engineer.

It's because the effectiveness of Fargazer's MADNESS status and the damage associated with it depends on the amount of time you spend aiming your weapon at an enemy. The longer you aim at an enemy, the more MADNESS will stack up, thus inflicting more damage over time.

At its full potential, Fargazer is incredibly deadly though it has a high mod power requirement, so use it carefully.

Voltaic Rondure

Voltaic Rondure is great for chaining shock damage to enemies. Upon activating it releases an orb that not only deals shock damage to enemies within the area, but it also applies the Overloaded status, which in turn deals more lightning damage. It's another great elemental weapon mod to deal AOE elemental damage.

Since the orb moves slowly, you're better off using Volatic Rondure in close quarters. It's also more viable when using tank Archetypes like the Challenger since you will always be within close proximity of enemies.

Skewer 2.0

Skewer 2.0 is the best of both worlds. First, it deals tremendous single-target damage. Then, that damage is transitioned into AOE damage that targets everything within 3 meters. It's ideal for slaying Elite enemies and ads clearing.

Defrag

You may initially feel like skipping Defrag because the description makes it seem so overwhelming, but don't because it's easily one of the best late-game weapon mods in the game.

When Defrag is active, your weapon shoots Fragmented rounds. Now, Fragmented in itself doesn't do anything, but when Fragmented enemies die, they create a Glitch. You can use this Glitch to inflict single-target damage or AOE damage. Picking up the Glitch will increase your overall damage by 20% for 15 seconds, whereas if you destroy the Glitch, it spawns a Viral Pool that deals 25 damage per second while applying the Fragmented debuff to the enemies inside the pool. As mentioned above, there's a lot happening here, but if you use it correctly, Defrag can be incredibly useful in late-game areas.

These are the best weapon mods you could use in Remnant 2.
