The original Resident Evil 4 is a fairly linear game, though, by no stretch, it's a short experience. As a matter of fact, it's the biggest Resident Evil game in terms of length.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is no different. It also adds a few optional areas and encounters to the game. But how long exactly does it take to beat Resident Evil 4 remake? Read on to find out.
Resident Evil 4 remake campaign length
The Resident Evil 4 remake can take anywhere between 20-30 hours to beat. Of course, you can speedrun and finish the main story in about 15-16 hours at lower difficulties, but there's no fun in that, right?
Our first playthrough of the Resident Evil 4 remake at the hardcore difficulty level took 27 hours to complete. We ended up finishing most of the optional enemy encounters and challenges, including most of the Blue Request missions. We also spent a decent amount of hours in the Merchant's shooting trials in the hope of acquiring new weapon charms.
It's important to add that our playthrough of the Resident Evil 4 remake doesn't consist of Ada Wong's Separate Ways DLC and the Mercenary mode. Both of these weren't part of the base game, and while we know that the Mercenary mode is coming later, there's no word on Ada Wong's campaign as of this writing.
Despite not having these bonus contents, the Resident Evil 4 remake is still a meaty video game experience. If you're still confused about getting it, you might want to check our review of it, where we gave it 5/5 and called it "the greatest action-horror game of all time."
