The creator of popular Roblox horror game SCP 3008, Uglyburger, is consistently updating the game with new content; and the next update in the works is Update 2.8. Players have been eagerly awating the release of new features for a while now. But for now, here's everything we know so far about the next major update to SCP 3008.
When Is SCP 3008 Update 2.8 Coming Out?
The last major update for the Roblox game SCP 3008 came out on December 20, 2023. It featured new objects and some other minor additions, also featuring a celebration for the game's 4th birthday. However it was also a continuation of the 2.7 update, and naturally, as we enter another new year, it's led many fans to wonder when the next major update might finally arrive.
Thankfully, as of January 2024, Uglyburger has given his fans some news on his discord server, explaining that there was "not much progress for now" on Update 2.8. "2.8 is still quite undercooked," he said, "and there's some essential features that are not currently in the 2.8 build and are still being worked out."
Uglyburger then mentioned trying to be prepared for months - "perhaps even years" - in advance, suggesting that the game could take quite a while to release.
Fans might be hopeful for update 2.8 to release in 2024, given the developer Uglyburger's history of fairly regular updates. However, there's absolutely no guarantee it will release this year. We may even see another update to the 2.7 build of the game instead.
Is A SCP 3008 VR Mode In The Works?
Some fans also believe that a VR mode might be in the works, based on a post in the game's Discord server from its developer. The video seemed to show Uglyburger playing a VR mode of 3008, although this hasn't been officially confirmed by the developer.
For now, fans will have to wait just a little longer for Roblox 3008 V2.8 to release. However, this could be one of the game's biggest releases yet once it finally comes out, potentially including new mechanics, features, and more.
