Among these is the Shrine of Ancient Tears, which features a temple that was once a great meeting place for the Ancients. After the Ancients vanished, some of their old temples fell into ruin at the bottom of the ocean, and sirens used them to build a shrine around it.
The Shrine of Ancient Tears lies in a dark place, so players must ensure they have a lantern while they venture into the depths of the ocean floor to look for it. Without any further ado, let's dive into the guide, where you will find everything you need to know about the Shrine of Ancient Tears, including how to survive and what awaits you as you venture deeper inside it.
Sea of Thieves: Shrine of Ancient Tears
To find the Shrine of Ancient Tears, you will have to sail towards The Ancient Isles, which are located in the South-East direction of Thieves’ Haven. As you approach the Thieves' Haven, you will see purple and blue lights swirling into the sky, demarcating the location of the Shrine.
Park your ship and swim down towards the northern quarter of the Shrine of Ancient Tears to find a blocked entrance. You will need to damage the pink Coral Orb to open the Siren Window and enter the Shrine.
After entering the Shrine, head to the South-West part of the room and enter through a hole in order to find and read the Shrine of Ancient Tears. Afterwards, climb up the stone staircase to the South-East side of the chamber and keep moving until you find the Strange Tales journal.
Move back to the main chamber to activate the Floor Plate Puzzle and solve it to open a large stone door to the East on the second floor of the chamber. There you will find a treasure: The Chest of Everlasting Sorrow journal.
Light up all four torches to open up a large stone door to the West side of the chamber. Go inside it and keep moving to find a small room with a butterfly, turtle, parrot, and crab rock painting. Find the Fate of the Silver Blade journal to unveil the next secret.
Next, you will have to find three levers and three torches by walking into the hallway that runs North and South. Light the torches and pull the levers to open the butterfly door. Fight a Coral Skeleton and enter the next area to find three turtle levers and Return of the Silver Blade journal.
After that, light six torches and pull the three turtle levers to open two turtles stone doors. One of them will contain treasure while the other one will lead to the next area. Light the new torches found and fight a Coral Skeleton to move on to the next area.
There you will find Parrot levers, and you will first have to light four torches and then pull down all the levers to open the next door. The first-floor plate will then open a secret compartment with parrot levers, interact with them to open the locked stone door.
Next, move on to the crab area, light all the torches, reveal all the three levers, and then interact with it to open the giant stone crab door. After you have lit all the torches, head into the large stone door with the four animal columns that open up.
You will then see a new room opening up on the West side of the room and step on the floor plate to reveal a Chest of Ancient Tributes. You will soon find a locked door in the main chamber, which can be accessed by completing The Legend of the Sunken Kingdom voyage.
In addition to this, you can find the Breath of the Sea in the Shrine of Ancient Tears on the lowest level of the Shrine. You will have to drain the well and light the torches around the altar at the bottom of the Shrine to reach the Coral Plinth.
You will be able to see the Breath of the Sea if you have an active Coral Message in a Bottle voyage.
