Fans of the iconic horror game franchise Silent Hill don't get a lot of new content often - in fact, a new game hasn't been released since 2012, over ten years ago.
Rumors of a remake and new game have been circulating for a while now on the internet, suggesting that a new game might be right around the corner.
As events come to a head, Konami made some major announcements during the Silent Hill Transmission on 19th October 2022.

According to a recent interview with Bloober Team’s Anna Jasińska, said: "We faithfully stick to the traditional story canon while remaking the gameplay and updating the graphics from the ground up. These are the reasons why Konami entrusted us with the remake in the first place".
There is a slight chance of the Silent Hill 2 remake showing up at The Game Awards 2022.

The Silent Hill Transmission was a YouTube livestream by Konami that took place on 19th October 2022.
The stream featured major reveals about what is to come for the future of Silent Hill, including the announcement of a remake and some new games.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Confirmed

A Silent Hill 2 remake is coming, headed by Bloober Team and Konami. The remake will feature all of the characters from the original,
The upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for one year and then will be available on PC as well.
"We want Silent HIll 2 today to make the same impression the original game did 20 years ago," said Mateusz Lenart, creative director and lead designer on the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake.
"Combining the old with the new is no easy task, but we believe we're on the right track."
Silent Hill: Townfall

Silent Hill: Townfall is another upcoming Silent Hill game that was announced during the live stream. Studios Annapura and No Code will be working on the project.
A short trailer was revealed, but no further information was announced. The creative director at No Code hinted that more information about the game would be coming next year.
Silent Hill: Ascension

Silent Hill: Ascension is another upcoming Silent Hill live experience that offers a totally new take on the franchise.
The game will be changed through players' input, allowing them to make decisions and "shape the Silent Hill canon."
Ascension will take place in real-time, giving fans more input than ever before on the series they love.
Silent Hill: Ascension will be live sometime in 2023.
Behaviour Interactive, the studio that created Dead by Daylight, will work on Silent Hill: Ascension. The game will also be developed by Bad Robot Games and Genvid.
Silent Hill: F

Silent Hill: F was the last Silent Hill game to be announced on the live stream, and very little was said about it. Developers only left fans with a trailer and the title of the game.
The trailer shows a girl being devoured by flowers before her face falls off at the end of the video. It's creepy yet interesting, in true Silent Hill fashion.
We will likely hear more information about the game from developers soon as development continues.
Return To Silent Hill

Along with the upcoming Silent Hill games is a new Silent Hill movie, Return to Silent Hill, based on the Silent Hill 2 game.
The movie will follow the story of Silent Hill 2, while redesigning some important characters, like Red Pyramid Thing.
The movie will be directed by Christophe Gans, the director of the first two Silent Hill movies, and will likely come out sometime in 2023 or 2024.
Silent Hill Remake Leaks
Before the Silent Hill Transmission, there were a lot of leaks floating around about the upcoming games. Silent Hill is no stranger to speculation regarding potential remakes, remasters, and new mainline games.
There have been whispers about a collaboration with Bloober Team since early 2021 from VGC, who would also post that there were multiple Silent Hill projects in progress from several international studios. These would include a remake, a full sequel to the existing games, and a series of episodic Silent Hill-based stories.
Then, in Spring 2022, several images were leaked on Twitter claiming to be associated with a new Silent Hill title, receiving a DMCA from Konami. Even so, the chances of an official announcement from Konami about a new Silent Hill game seemed slim, as there was no mention of it during Playstation's 2022 Day of Play event.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date Speculation
At the time of writing, there is no official confirmed release date for Silent Hill 2 Remake, but in this article, you’ll find all (if any) information that the developer shared, as well as some speculation from Ginx on when we could see it launch.
Unfortunately, as of now, there are not any set release dates for any new Silent Hill titles. But it seems like we might be getting some news soon.
The Silent Hill Transmission mentioned that, while the movie and Silent Hill 2 remake are early in the process, Silent Hill: Ascension will be ready for fans to enjoy as soon as 2023.
