Can You Get Sims 4 Expansion Packs For Free?

Fans of The Sims 4 are always looking for ways to expand their creativity, and with plenty of expansion packs and bundles to choose from the opportunities are nigh on endless. The latest expansion DLC to make its way to The Sims 4 is Horse Ranch, which adds in new skills, furniture, lots and more.

But anyone who's browsed the digital storefronts for Sims expansions will know that they're a surefire way to bleed your bank account dry, with many running upwards of $30 a piece. As a saving grace, the base game for The Sims 4 is now free-to-play, meaning players won't need to drop any additional cash just to play the game. But, for a more expanded collection of items, you'll want to take a dive through some of the DLCs. But is there a way to get any for free?

Can You Get Sims 4 Expansion Packs For Free?

Every now and then, EA will release some free items for players to snap up and add to their collections. These could be seasonal items, like Christmas trees and decorations, or other furniture sets. But the bulk of expanded content arrives via DLCs.

Unfortunately, there's no legitimate way to get and Expansion Packs or Game Packs for free, but depending on which version of the game you purchase you might get some extra content included. For example, the Digital Deluxe Upgrade includes the Up All Night Digital Content, Awesome Animal Hats Digital Content, and the Life of the Party Digital Content.

Players can also get instant access to The Sims 4 plus the Get To Work Expansion Pack via EA Play, EA's own digital subscription service. As for EA's most recent Sims 4 Expansion Pack, Horse Ranch, there's currenty no way to obtain this DLC for free. 

The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack will launch on July 20, 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via EA app for Windows, Origin, Steam and Epic Games Store. Players who purchase the Horse Ranch Expansion Pack anytime from June 22 to August 31, will also receive access to the Rockin’ Rancher Digital Content, including a resonator guitar, wagon wheel art and rustic rocking chair.
