Purchase The Kitchen

Before you start cooking in Stardew Valley, you'll need to purchase the Kitchen extension for your home. To do so, just talk to Robin at the Carpenter's shop and she'll renovate your home over the span of 3 days.

To purchase the Kitchen from Robin, you'll need these materials:

• 10,000 Gold
• 450 Wood

When You Should Get The Kitchen In Stardew Valley

If you're low on resources at the beginning of the game, you might be wondering, "is the kitchen actually worth it?" Since it allows you to cook food for yourself and keep your stats high, it's a good idea to invest in the kitchen early on. You can also use your kitchen to cook meals for others to increase your friendship level with them!

Obtain Recipes

Recipes are your key to cooking food in Stardew Valley; obtaining a recipe means you'll be able to make that recipe in your kitchen once you obtain the ingredients. Here are all of the ways you can get recipes while playing Stardew Valley:

• Watch the "Queen of Sauce" show segment on your TV; whichever meal is on the show will be added to your recipes.
• Buy recipes at Stardrop Saloon
• Skill upgrade rewards
• Friendship level rewards

Grab Ingredients

So you know what you want to cook; now you need to get the materials to cook it. You can, of course, use the ingredients you've grown on your own farm to prepare meals for yourself. However, if you don't quite have everything you need, you can head out to one of the shops in town to get your hands on those items.

Use The Kitchen To Cook

Once you've got your chosen recipe and the ingredients for it in hand, all you have to do is go to the kitchen with those ingredients in your inventory. Approach the stove and interact with it. You'll see a list of your recipes. To make one, just click it, and viola - the finished food will appear in your inventory immediately after!
