In Starfield, you will quickly find yourself in a tough spot if you have a habit of hoarding everything from alien sandwiches to antibiotics. That's because the infamous encumbrance mechanic from past BGS games is back in full swing and is worse than ever.

Given the absurd amount of necessary and unnecessary things you could pick up in Starfield, you may need to increase inventory space sooner rather than later. Thankfully, there are a few ways to do that, and our guide here explains all possible methods to increase carrying capacity in Starfield so that you can enjoy space exploration without any hindrance.

All Ways To Increase Inventory Space In Starfield

You can increase your carrying capacity in Starfield by unlocking the Weight Lifting skill. It's in the Physical section of the Skill Tree, and you can upgrade it to rank 4 to increase your carrying capacity up to 100 kg.

Some Legendary Spacesuits also have perks that can significantly increase your carrying capacity. They are the Power Armor equivalent from the Fallout games. You can either purchase them from vendors or find them on a corpse while exploring a space dungeon, aka research centers on a distant planet.

Another way to clear your inventory space is by storing items on your ship's Cargo Hold. For this, head to your ship's cockpit and look for a blue terminal labeled "Cargo Hold." You can either manually transfer items from your inventory to the Cargo Hold or select the Cargo Hold option while buying or selling items from a vendor.

Lastly, you can transfer items to your companions, some of whom, funnily enough, acknowledge their purpose of being your primary hoarder. Interact with them to find the "Let's trade gear" option.

And that's it! These should help make some space or increase your carrying capacity in Starfield.
