If you've been keeping your eye on recent video game titles. then you'll likely have heard about Stray. The adventure game features an adorable feline protagonist in a strange world, developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive.

But what might surprise you is the absolute success the game has been, and for those who don't know, we've got all the details for you. Let's take a look at the details surrounding the news of Stray being Annapurna's biggest launch title to date.

Just like its ginger feline protagonist, Stray seems to have landed solidly on its feet upon its launch just three days ago on the 19th July 2022. The game has seen a surge of player support as noted in a tweet from Benji-Sales, making Stray the biggest successful launch ever for the developer Annapurna Interactive.

The game has seen nearly 63,000 concurrent players on its first day in the Steam Library, and while you might think this is a small figure, it's substantially larger than the numbers for the publisher's previous titles to date. Games such as the speedrunning FPS Neon White and last year's 12 Minutes don't compare to Strays numbers and it is still at the time of writing the number 1 top seller on Steam.

Speaking of Steam, the game received over 7,000 reviews on Steam on its first day of being released. And now with 15,114 reviews, the game is still being touted as a great experience, with 97% of all reviews being positive ones.

All this success does come with good reason, as fans have been hyped for Stray since its reveal with gameplay trailers drawing fans' interest and excitement to navigate the mysterious post-apocalyptic world as a cute cat. The game even managed to steal the top spot for Steam's most wish-listed game from another popular title, The Day Before.
