Subnautica: Below Zero - How to make Hydraulic Fluid to repair the bridge

Trouble accessing the Arctic Spires because of the broken bridge? Learn how to make Hydraulic Fluid in Subnautica: Below Zero.
Subnautica: Below Zero - How to make Hydraulic Fluid to repair the bridge

While the exploration is at the forefront in Subnautica: Below Zero, advancing the story and seeing the lore behind Planet 4546B is certainly an enjoyable task as well. Developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment has crafted yet another beautifully woven story to encapsulate players into wanting to explore the world further.

However, that can’t be done once players reach the part of the story where they need to repair a bridge in Glacial Bay to access the new biome, Arctic Spires. The bridge needs one key ingredient, Hydraulic Acid, and players don’t know where to find it.

If you’re one of these players, don’t fret, as we have you covered.

Making Hydraulic Fluid in Subnautica: Below Zero

The only use for Hydraulic Fluid in Below Zero is to fix the bridge in Glacial Bay. Players will know they’ve reached this part of the story because a P.A. announcement will mark your progress and let you know what you need to do.

Once you’ve reached Glacial Bay and this part of the story, you’ll need to go to the broken bridge and find an orange canister that’s lying on the floor. You need to scan this and once you do, you’ll have the blueprint for Hydraulic Fluid.

After that, head to a fabricator with four gel sacks and one creepvine seed cluster. You can read how to find gel sacks in one of our previous articles. With these materials in hand, navigate to Hydraulic Fluid in the fabricator and make one canister of it. You now have what you need to repair the bridge and access the Arctic Spires. Although, beware of the Ice Worm when walking on the ice.
