Developer Unknown Worlds has been keeping players in the loop through their Developer Vlog posts on the development of their forthcoming release, Subnautica 2. The game is expected to be released through Early Access sometime in 2025, at which point the developer will announce its official release date.
Recently, the developer announced the first Subnautica game, as the survival exploration game will be making waves on new platforms. The developer has also announced that players can pre-register for the game ahead of its anticipated release, which the game will include unique adjustments and optimizations, and its launch day pricing.
Unknown Worlds announced on 27th May 2025 that the first Subnautica game will be heading to mobile devices, confirming its release date of 8th July 2025. Subnautica will be available for both Android and iOS devices with an exclusive launch day discount of 10%, which means they can pick up the game for "$8.99 instead of $9.99."
"We’re thrilled to announce that Subnautica is coming to iOS and Android on July 8th, 2025!," the developer revealed in the announcement post. They later added that the development team has "worked closely with Playdigious to redesign and optimize Subnautica for mobile, bringing a new way to experience the game."
Additionally, pre-registrations for Subnautica on Android and iOS devices have gone live, allowing players to sign up for the game on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store before its launch. The developer also confirmed adjustments and optimizations for mobile devices, including exclusive mobile UI with touch controls, Cloud Saves functionalities, Game Center achievements, and more.
