A lot of new information has come out for Super Mario Bros. Wonder and we now know its file size.

Nintendo have announced a brand new entry into the long-running Mario series — Super Mario Bros. Wonder. First announced during a Nintendo Driect presentation back in June 2023, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is scheduled for release this October. 

The game is set to niclude a whole host of features, as online multiplayer allowing players from all over to play Mario Wonder together. Players will also be able to select a wide variety of characters, use new power-ups, and more. With the excitement growing, players will be keen to learn how big the download size will be for Mario Wonder.

These days, you will often be asked to download games before you can play them. Some players enjoy going completely digital, which is why the file size for games like Mario Wonder is important. Nintendo UK has revealed that the file size for Mario Wonder is a lot smaller than you might expect.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is expected to 4500 MB or 4.5 GB. For comparison sake, the file size for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is around 18.2 GB. This means that Mario Wonder is a lot smaller of a game but that does not mean that it won't be filled with content for you to enjoy.

When it comes to side-scrolling Mario games, they tend to be shorter than the 3D Mario games. For example, New Super Mario Bros U was around 15 hours for an average playthrough. However, you were able to expand on it and do hidden courses and get a lot more collectibles that were hidden away.

So if we had to guess based on the file size, we would say that the game should last around 20 hours or so. This likely includes doing more side content as well as main story content. We will have to see later down the line how long the game actually is.
