Tarkov Gunsmith Part 8 Mechanic Quest Guide

After completing Escape from Tarkov's Gunsmith Part 7, Mechanic will allow you to complete Gunsmith Part 8. Whether you're hunting for money or looking for an easy way to level up your Tarkov account, Gunsmith tasks provide steady XP and rewards for those who complete them. To complete Gunsmith Part 8, you must obtain level 17 to begin the quest, therefore don't panic if you haven't received this quest yet!

Gunsmith Part 8 requires players to modify an AKS-74N to meet specific requirements. Thankfully, the AKS-74N isn't particularly expensive or inaccessible, the task doesn't require expensive attachments at all. Players will only find irritation reaching level 17 from the previous Gunsmith task if they aren't already level 17 or above. By now, Gunsmith tasks are regular and everything should begin to come relatively easy.

What Do You Need to Do for Gunsmith Part 8

Gunsmith Part 8 will require a series of weapon attachments for the AKS-74N following these criteria:

• 60 Durability
• 250 or less recoil
• 65 or more ergonomics
• 10 or fewer cells

You can purchase the AKS-74N from Prapor loyalty level two for a decent price, again like earlier tasks, the AKS-74N isn't particularly rare. Therefore finding it within weapon crates around the map or on scavs won't prove a difficult task. Being level 17, you can purchase one from the Flea market relatively cheap, just make sure it's above 60 durability. 

How To Complete Gunsmith Part 8

To complete Gunsmith Part 8, modify the AKS-74N with these attachments:

You have a more difficult time finding these attachments inside weapon crates due to the small spawn chances they have. Therefore, if you're wanting to obtain them easily, salvage them slowly off PMC operatives you take down, or purchase whatever you can from the Flea market, hoping you won't have to grind for the merchant loyalty levels.

• Mechanic Rep +0.02
• 75,000 Roubles
  • 78,750 Roubles with Intelligence Center Level 1
  • 86,250 Roubles with Intelligence Center Level 2
• 2× AKS-74U CAA XRSU47SU tactical handguard
• 2× AK-74 thread type JMac Customs RRD-4C multi-caliber muzzle brake
• 60× 5.45x39mm BS gs

These rewards aren't too shabby, however like the other tasks, I would use the profits to reinvest into the next Gunsmith tasks. Unfortunately, they only get more expensive from here, although, it's an easy way to rank your account up quickly at the expense of most of the money in your account. Additionally, it might be a bright idea to collect expensive weapon parts as they may be needed for future Gunsmith tasks, this will save you money!
