Tiny Tina's Wonderlands cross-platform - Is there cross-play?

Borderlands 3 missed out on full cross-play support, with PlayStation gamers not being able to play with those on Xbox. Despite the Borderlands franchise being such a massive one, it has always struggled to bring gamers from all platforms together...until now. With Tiny Tina's Wonderlands from Gearbox Software releasing on 25th March 2022, we've got some very good news to share.

In this article, we discuss if Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will have full cross-platform play support, including PS4 and PS5.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands cross-platform play support

The short answer is yes, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will have full cross-platform play support for PC, Xbox and PlayStation!  This excellent news comes from Gearbox Software's CEO, Randy Pitchford.

With a Tweet in the early hours of the morning on 14th March 2022, Mr Pitchford announced this excellent news, stating: "Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will ship on March 25 with full cross-play for all platforms at launch, including PlayStation. Incredible work from the engineers at Gearbox Software with thanks to our partners at 2k Games and 1st parties, including Sony, for working together on this."

With full cross-platform play confirmed for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, fans across all platforms will finally get to band together.

Randy Pitchford followed up by explaining: "Please take it easy on us if there are hiccups. This is hard stuff and none of the platforms were designed for this. We’ve done impossible work to make it happen and to try to make it as easy to use as possible, but this is new territory and the wild is not a test environment."

What does this mean for Borderlands 3? Well, there's actually good news there as well. Randy Pitchford noted in the Twitter thread mentioned above that the addition of PlayStation to Borderlands 3 cross-play is now what he considers "to be inevitable". 

More information about Borderlands 3's addition of PlayStation cross-play will be announced in the future.

While there might be some issues at launch, this is a giant step in the right direction from Gearbox Software, and we can't wait to dive into the game, mowing down enemies for a tonne of shiny loot starting on 25th March 2022.
