TwitchCon San Diego 2022 - Health Measures Policy
TwitchCon San Diego recently came under fire following its announcement of its Health Measures Policy for those attending the IRL convention. While keeping with the California State guidelines for health and safety, "there will be no COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements at TwitchCon San Diego".
Twitch stated that masks would be encouraged by TwitchCon attendees; however, it's not mandatory or a requirement. As such, they've warned the Twitch community that before purchasing tickets, they should be comfortable with the policy set in place for the convention.
While the company is placing the health and safety of its attendants in their hands, it was highly criticized for its poor efforts in ensuring attendees are a little safer at TwitchCon.
This criticism followed reports from San Diego Comic-Con that several panel guests tested positive for COVID-19, including author George R. R. Martin, due to a sub-par health policy during the pop culture extravaganza.
