At roughly 04:00 GMT, players have been experiencing Valorant server issues and getting the Val Error 40 message when trying to log into the game. This appears to be for European servers only. Then, there's also a new issue where Valorant crashes when using the Careers button. Here's what we know so far.
Valorant server issues: Val Error 40 message
At the time of writing, the Valorant server issues in the European region persists. It has been over four hours with players getting the Val Error 40 message when trying to log into the servers, as per a report on Reddit.
There's no indication from Riot Games how long this issue will persist, and no clear fix for the Val Error 40 right now. Riot Games, however, has provided a short update on the game's status page, noting: "We're aware of a problem causing login attempts to fail and are working on a fix."
The Val Error 40 code primarily appears when the servers are down, and since they are not currently down, the issue is a bit strange.
Hopefully, Riot Games will sort in this login issue soon, as players are wondering why these server issues are appearing.
Valorant crashing on Careers button
According to several other reports on Reddit, players have been experiencing recent crashes, where Valorant fully crashes to desktop when using the Careers button and while heading into the Careers screen.
Again, there is no clear fix for this Valorant crashing issue just yet. Attempts to circumvent the issue with restarts and multiple attempts have proved futile.
