Envy signs former T1 player Food for their Valorant roster

The ex-CS:GO pro moved to the Valorant scene looking to make a name for himself, with the T1 roster falling short of expectations after initial excitement.
Envy signs former T1 player Food for their Valorant roster

As one of the most exciting Valorant prospects in the North American scene, it was a given that Victor "Food" Wong wouldn't stay a free agent for much following his departure from T1, landing a spot in Team Envy's roster, the org announced via Twitter.

The former CS:GO player retired to join the flourishing scene being built around Riot's tactical shooter, quickly garnering impressive results, winning the Twitch Rivals: Valorant Launch Showdown with Team Brax.

Korean powerhouse org T1 took notice and quickly snatched him for their roster this past May, elevating the squad to great heights that saw them finish second at the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown, their best placing in an Ignition Series event.

Sadly for Food, things didn't completely click, with a few riffs that included a leaked conversation of him opening about how much he disliked Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham's style of play and comms adding pressure to deliver results, failing on that front to the point both the org and player decided the best course of action was to part ways at the beginning of September

With the arrival of Food, Envy currently has six players on its roster, with no departures being confirmed as of yet. The members currently contracted are:

  • Adam "aKis" Kisseberth
  • Abdo "C4lypso" Agha
  • Pujan "FNS" Mehta
  • Anthony "MummAy" DiPaolo
  • Jake "Kaboose" McDonald
  • Victor "Food" Wong
