Valorant Episode 2 Act 3 is here, which means a new ranked season and a new opportunity for highly competitive players to show off their skills against other players online.
Episode 2 Act 3 will see some ranked changes from Valorant 2.04 patch implemented at the start of Act 3, which has been confirmed by Riot's senior competitive designer Jonathan Walker, aka EvrMoar.
The things will function essentially the same as they did with the last act.
This means that all players who are ranked below Immortal will see no changes in their rank and they will play only 1 placement match.
On the other hand, players who are ranked Immortal or above will lose 90% of their Ranked Rating and "the leaderboard will be squished again".

The so-called soft resets will happen only with the start of each new Episode (each Episode has 3 Acts), so there will be no soft reset with Episode 2 Act 3.
Additionally, it has been reported that players are getting incorrect ranked placements, and thanks to players' feedback, developers have quickly spotted that bug and are working on fixing it.
"We just caught a bug that caused incorrect ranked placements", the Tweet reads. "A fix is in for players who have yet to play their placements, but we are working on a solution for those who were placed incorrectly. Stand by!"
Hopefully, the fix will come later this day, both for players who are already incorrectly placed and for those who are yet to play their placement games.
