Valorant Champions 2022 - Schedule, Brackets, Format

VCT LCQ is now over and we have all the 16 teams that will be playing in the ultimate tournament, Valorant Champions 2022. The event will be taking place in Istanbul, Turkey and Riot Games has revealed all the details about it including the brackets, format, schedule, and more. 

Valorant Champions 2022 will begin on 31st August and will run till 18th September and teams will compete for the points, prize pool, and most importantly, the trophy and the champions title. Here's everything you need to know about Valorant Champions 2022.

Valorant Champions 2022 Format and Brackets

Champions will be played in GST-style group play and will be followed by an eight-team double elimination bracket. Teams were first divided into four pools based on the combination of their respective final placements at Challenger and Masters events and the strength of their region.

• Pool 1: NA (1), EMEA (1), KR, APAC (1)
• Pool 2: NA (2), EMEA (2), LATAM, JP
• Pool 3: NA LCQ, EMEA LCQ, BR, APAC (2)
• Pool 4: S. America LCQ (1), S. America LCQ (2), APAC LCQ, East Asia LCQ

Then the teams were drawn randomly and were put into different groups A, B, C, and D. If a team that was drawn into a group already had another team from their region, they were sorted into the next alphabetically sequential group.

If they were the final team to be drawn from their pool, they were moved backward through the groups until a valid group is landed on. Once a full pool were drawn and became fully valid, the teams of that pool were locked and no changes were made.

• Group A: Paper Rex, Edward Gaming, Leviatán, Team Liquid
• Group B: Optic Gaming, BOOM Esports, ZETA DIVISION, LOUD
• Group C: FPX, KRÜ Esports, XSET, XERXIA
• Group D: DRX, FURIA Esports, FNATIC, 100Thieves

Teams will first battle in the group stage following a double elimination bracket and two teams will be the top two teams of each group.

After the group stage, a random draw will seed the Knockout Stage and the teams qualified for the playoffs will play through an eight-team double elimination bracket and in the first round, the team placed first will go again a team that was placed second in the group stage.

The venue of Valorant Champions 2022 has not been revealed yet but Riot will be announcing it soon and we will keep you updated once the information is out.
