Valorant's next agent, Deadeye, won't be coming out with Episode 3 Act 3

"It was clear to us that they were not at the quality bar you’ve come to expect from us."

Valorant fans have been anticipating the release of the game's seventh agent, who is widely rumoured to be called Deadeye. They were expected to come out with Episode 3 Act 3, but the game's developers have now confirmed that is not the case.

In the most recent State of the Agents, VALORANT character producer John Goscicki revealed that the agent currently isn't fit for purpose. The developers are also not yet happy with the agent's "visual cues".

"In a game like VALORANT, where decisions are made in milliseconds, these aspects must be there," explained Goscicki. "This was not an easy decision for us, and [I] hope you understand while we take the extra time to wrap up the final loose ends," Goscicki added.

While Goscicki's statement will disappoint many players, the developers are not leaving players hanging on when Riot Games will release the agent, confirming that it will arrive two weeks after the launch of Episode 3 Act 3, with patch v3.10

Act 3 is expected to come out on 3rd November, so Deadeye -- if that is their name -- should be with us on 17th November.

That is not all, as tomorrow (29th October), Goscicki also revealed that the agent's trailer would come out and told fans to keep an eye on the game's socials at 4 pm BST.

Very little is currently known about Deadeye, other than that Deadeye is a Sentinel and is very likely French. Deadeye would be the game's fourth Sentinel, after Cypher, Killjoy, and Sage.

With no agent being released with Episode 3 Act 3, it will likely feel like more of a soft-launch for the season. Additionally, no new map is expected after the introduction of Fracture last time round, so players only really have the battle pass to look forward to.
