Axie Infinity - How to Earn SLP

Smooth Love Potion, abbreviated as SLP, is an ERC-20 gaming token used in the NFT-based online video game Axie Infinity. However, the most intriguing part about SLP is that it’s a cryptocurrency in the real world that players can trade on various crypto platforms.

In Axie Infinity, players can battle against other random players and win matches to earn SLP tokens. These players can then exchange the tokens for real money. So, if this sounds like a profitable way to make some cash, here’s a breakdown of ways you can earn SLP in Axie Infinity. 

How to earn SLP in Axie Infinity

Initially, there were three primary methods by which players could earn SLP in Axie Infinity. Unfortunately, Sky Mavis, the developer of the game, has limited the way of making SLP to a single method.

At present, the only way to acquire SLP in Axie Infinity is by winning the battles in Arena Mode. Therefore, the more Arena battles you win, the more SLP will be credited to your account. However, it’s worth noting that the amount of SLP rewards earned through Axie Infinity’s Arena Mode depends on MMR.

MMR is an acronym used for the player’s matchmaking rating in the game. Players above 2500 MMR can earn up to 14 SLP, roughly equivalent to 0.07 USD, per the current exchange rate. On the other hand, players with MMR between 0 to 999 can only earn 1 SLP per victory.

With that said, it’s strongly recommended to increase your matchmaking rating to enhance your earning rate. Meanwhile, always remember that the more your MMR increases, the more difficult opponents you will get.

As mentioned earlier, there were initially three ways to earn SLP in Axie Infinity. Completing three daily quests was one of the methods to earn SLP tokens, rewarding players with upwards of 25 SLP.

Unfortunately, with the Axie Infinity Season 20 update, Sky Mavis removed this feature and said that the “quest had become a mass emission mechanism for SLP.”
