Clash of Clans adding ‘Dragon Rider’ elixir troop with Summer Update

A new elixir troop is being introduced to strengthen Town Hall 14.
It has been a while since Supercell has introduced Town Hall 14 in Clash of Clans. Unlike the additional troop power for a new Town Hall, there was nothing until now. Finally, it seems that the actual announcements are being made for Town Hall 14 as the developers just announced a brand new elixir troop named Dragon Rider.

Skeleton riding a Mechanical Dragon

The new unit, Dragon Rider, looks like a skeleton riding a mechanical dragon. With a fair movement speed, Dragon Rider will probably enter the war attacks meta and do massive destruction to the defence buildings.

On his unveiling, Supercell said:

“Dragon Rider is skeletal engineering’s latest attempt at creating sustained, mechanical flight while endeavouring to deliver ebullient ordnance to its targets far below. By (not so) carefully mimicking the king of the skies, this creation of cunning construction is carefully contoured like Dragon.”

  • Favourite Target: Defenses
  • Damage Type: Single Target
  • Targets: Ground & Air
  • Housing Space: 25
  • Movement Speed: 20
  • Training time: 16m 40s

This new troop will only be available from Town Hall 13 with barracks level 15 and above. At launch, Dragon Rider will have 3 levels in the laboratory and each level will empower the troop and its destruction damage.

At level 1, Dragon Rider will deal 340 damage per second which will increase to 370 and 400 at level 2 and 3. The base death damage is 700 which will increase to 800 and 900 at level 2 and 3. The HP for the 3 levels are 4100, 4500 and 4900.

It is quite fascinating to see a completely new type of troop is making its way to the Clash universe. And with a troop like this, 3 starring lower Town Halls became even easier.
