The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) will start the new year with its first in-game event in January. The event will see a host of fantastic rewards, Event Tickets to collect and activities to complete.

Developer ZeniMax has detailed plans for the upcoming in-game event in an announcement post this past week. In this article, we'll discuss what players need to know about the Daedric War Celebration event, including its release date and time, event details, rewards and more.

When will the Daedric War Celebration event release?

The ESO Daedric War Celebration event will start on 20th January 2022 at 10 am EST / 3 pm GMT. The event will run for two weeks as it will conclude on 1st February 2022 at 10 am EST / 3 pm GMT.

If you wish to participate in the Daedric War Celebration event, The Elder Scrolls Online is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. It's also available via Xbox Game Pass for consoles.

How to unlock the Daedric War Celebration event

ESO players looking to participate in the event must note a few requirements that will allow them to gain access to the event. As such, ensure that the game has the latest update installed before starting the "celebration period".

Players will need to have access to either of the following expansions, which players can acquire through the ESO Plus membership or by purchasing them in-game:

  • Morrowind Chapter/DLC
  • Clockwork City DLC
  • Summerset Chapter/DLC

Either of these expansions will give them access to the Daedric War Celebration event. They will need to find the opening quest, "Guidance for Guides", which can be purchased for free also from the in-game store or by locating the vendor NPC, Calonir, outside an Impresario tent.

Daedric War Celebration event details

There are several activities available in the three areas for players to complete during the event. They will need to complete the "Guidance for Guides" quest to begin their journey.

Other activities available during the event include clearing Delves, defeating World Bosses, monsters and shutting down Abyssal Geysers, amongst some of the event's activities.

Additionally, there are plenty of treasure chests, safeboxes and Thieves Troves to open, loot to collect and resource nodes to harvest. Participate in special events like Psijic Portals to earn more rewards and level up your character.

There are various daily quests they can complete in Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, or Summerset and the weekly Asylum Sanctorum or Cloudrest quests for more rewards. Lastly, complete several region-based activities throughout the Daedric War Celebration. These activities are as follows:

  • Completing region daily quests and weekly Trial quests
  • Harvesting resource nodes
  • Defeating region-based World and Trial Bosses and clearing Delves
  • Completing Vvardenfell and Clockwork City public dungeons
  • Defeating the final boss in the Asylum Sanctorum and Halls of Fabrication quests

Daedric War Celebration event rewards

Players have the opportunity to earn the exclusive Daedric War Spoils reward box when completing several in-game event activities. These include clearing Delves, defeating World Bosses and monsters and shutting down Abyssal Geysers.

These reward boxes will contain several items that they add to their Inventory, such as:

  • Weapon style pages for Evergloam Champion
  • Pet rune box for the Gloam Gryphon Fledgling
  • Crafting resources
  • Regional style items based on styles from the Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, and Summerset styles
  • Overland set items
  • Items exchanged for gold
  • Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, and Summerset treasure maps
  • Transmutation Crystals
  • Motif chapters based on styles from Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, and Summerset
  • Armor style pages for Snowhawk Mage
  • Rune box for the Slag Town Diver Skin
  • Rune box for Thetys Ramarrys's Bait Kit
  • A pet fragment for the Microtized Verminous Fabricant

In addition, several region-based activities will drop various rewards upon completion. These rewards range from additional loot and a style page for the Doctrine Ordinator.

Lastly, there are Event Tickets to be earned during the event. They can earn a maximum of two Event Tickets, a total of 26 Event Tickets for the entire event, for each player daily by completing their first daily quest in Vvardenfell or Clockwork City, and Summerset.

To unlock these daily quests, players will need to complete the following activities:

  • The Ancestral Ties questline in Ald'ruhn for the Morrowind Ashlander daily quests
  • The "Lost in the Gloam" story quest in Clockwork City for the Blackfeather Court daily quests
  • Clearing The Halls of Regulation and The Shadow Cleft delves for the delve daily quests

The event will introduce the Soulfire Dragon Illusion, the first morphing collectable for which fragments will be made available. These fragments will be offered as rewards when completing various activities, as the developer will be releasing more information on this collectable before the event's start.
