What started as an April Fools’ joke may become a reality, as G Fuel has opened pre-orders for a brand new flavor inspired by… Sanic?
That’s right, as part of their annual campaign for this special day, the energy drink brand has announced through Twitter the release of a new flavor known as Sanic’s Chili Dogs, which is a reference to the favorite food of SEGA’s mascot Sonic.
Make no mistake, this isn't the official design of Sonic gracing the cover of this soon-to-be explosive G Fuel flavor, but rather his derpy, less fashionable brother Sanic, a recurring internet meme that has crawled its way into Sonic games.
The flavor will be available through G Fuel’s website for a price of $39.99, coming as a bundle that includes Sanic's Chili Dogs Tub, Sonic's Peach Rings Tub, and as always, an exclusive Shaker Cup.
As this is part of a special campaign, these tubs and bundles will be available for a limited-time only, so in case you are interested in acquiring one of these you can already join a waitlist to make sure you get your hands on them.
It’s worth mentioning it is not the first time the blue hedgehog has appeared on other products from this brand, as a Peach Rings Gummies flavor was released some months ago as part of an alliance with SEGA.
So if this new flavor turns out to be popular, we would not be surprised if G Fuel and SEGA had another partnership underway now that a Sonic sequel movie is in production, although now with a more traditional flavor.
