If you like Jurassic Park, you should try this Half-Life 2 mod

Half-Life 2 gets a Jurassic Park crossover in this new mod which is now fully playable.
If you like Jurassic Park, you should try this Half-Life 2 mod

Although Jurassic Park is a popular mainstream franchise, oddly enough, there hasn't been a single first-person shooter game based on it. In the last 30 years, there were almost 40 various Jurassic Park games, all kinds of genres (even a fighting game), but not a single first-person shooter. One would think that FPS and Jurassic Park are a perfect match, but that doesn't seem to be the case, or at least no one who owns the franchise/license had thought about it for the last 3 decades.

But that's why we have creative fans who know how to code and to do modding. A group of enthusiasts has worked for years on a project called "Jurassic Life", a Jurassic Park mode made in Half-Life 2. And now they can finally and proudly say that their work is almost complete and playable from the start to the very end.

Of course, that does not mean that the job is done, this is more an invitation to help them test the mod, and report all bugs and other issues. To celebrate this announcement, the team has also released a new gameplay trailer called "Life Finds a Way", which you can watch below.

This mod is a single-player, story-driven experience. It takes place around the same time as the first movie, but it's not based on any of the previously known stories (neither from movies, nor books), and instead, it has its original tale. The player takes role of a warden Robert Muldoon, who was hired to keep order in the Jurassic Park, located on Isla Nublar. But, needless to say, things will go very wrong very soon.

Developers are promising an exciting, action-packed adventure, and that we will encounter most of the iconic dinosaurs from the series. Judging by the trailer, we can say that the mod looks absolutely awesome, despite being made in 16 years old game. Devs emphasized that the trailer has been made in an older version of the mod and that the current version is even more polished.

They expect that the final version will be released sometime later this year. If you would like to try it right now, you can download the mod from here. Obviously, you would need to own Half-Life 2 and have it installed, in order to play the mod.
