A statement posted on Twitter reads: “We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from out Portkey Games label.
“Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs.”
Hogwarts Legacy was originally slated to be released this year, after being announced back in September.
Developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy is an action role-playing game set in the Wizarding World during the late 1800s, where players can explore an open world featuring iconic locations from the Harry Potter movies.
This likely won’t be the only delay we’ll see in 2021, although it’s surprising this announcement is so early in the year.
Hogwarts Legacy will release in 2022 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
