Hasbro Wants Transformers Games On Game Pass

Transformers, the hard drive in disguise.
Hasbro Wants Transformers Games On Game Pass

Hasbro has spoken in an interview about the now unavailable Xbox 360-era Transformers game and the possibility of seeing them return.

Hasbro spoke about the Transformers games in an interview with Transformers World, stating:

"Sadly, apparently Activision's not sure what hard drives they're on in their building. When a company eats a company that eats a company things get lost, and that's very frustrating. Hope is that now that the deal is moving forward with Microsoft and Xbox they'll go through all the archives and every hard drive to find it all because it's an easy Game Pass add. We want those games back up for people to have a chance to play."

You currently cannot purchase Transformers: War for Cybertron, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, and Transformers: Devastion digitally due to licensing issues, and the only way to play these games at all beyond emulation is to already own the game or a disc for the game.

With the purchase of Activision and the blessing of Hasbro themselves, Xbox would be able to add the game to Xbox Game Pass once they've dealt with the licensing issues, assuming that Activision can actually find the games within their large pile of hard drives.

A new Transformers game was announced just last year, titled Transformers: Reactivate. The game is being developed by Splash Damage and will be a 1-4 player online action game, with a closed beta planned for some point this year.
