While the Nintendo Switch may lack Monster Hunter World, there’s two new titles in the franchise hitting the system next year.

During Nintendo’s latest Direct Mini, Monster Hunter Rise was announced to release on 26th March 2021.

The first trailer showcased some of the monsters you’ll be tackling too, including Aknosom, Tetranadon, Great Izuchi, and Magnamalo.

In a follow-up presentation, the game’s canine Palamute companion was showed off - which you can ride around the expansive world.

There’s also Wire bugs, which help you climb and scale the mountainous terrain and also attack enemies.

This wasn’t the only title, with Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings of Ruin also announced for Switch releasing in Summer 2021.

This title places a bigger emphasis on story as you tackle quests around the world, where you’ll be joined by popular monsters from the series.

The game will also connect to Monster Hunter Rise in some capacity, with more information expected at the Tokyo Games Show next week.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 is sequel to the 3DS and Android spin-off released back in 2017, which was critically praised.
