Resident Evil 4 Remake rumours are continuing to emerge
More news on Resident Evil 4 Remake

Yesterday we reported about the Resident Evil 4 Remake, which is supposedly in the works, and planned for release in 2022.

According to these rumours, Resident Evil 4 Remake was in pre-production since 2018, and it now entered full production at M-Two; a new studio founded by former PlatinumGames dev Tatsuya Minami.

New info posted on VGC says that this remake is being directed by a newcomer to the series who works at M-Two. The original game director, Shinji Mikami, was offered the position, but he is not available since he currently works on GhostWire: Tokyo, at Tango Gameworks (creators of The Evil Within series), a game that we first saw at E3 this year, with announcement remembered for cheerful Ikumi Nakamura.

New info also says that the team working on the Resident Evil 4 is much bigger than the teams who worked on RE2 and RE3 remakes, which include the full support of two Capcom’s internal Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 teams. Some Capcom veterans, who worked on the original Resident Evil 4, are coming back to work on a remake, like a producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and designer Kouji Kakae, who recently worked on Devil May Cry 5.

Once again, this all in unconfirmed information, coming from sources known to portal VGC, but it does sound all quite interesting and plausible. Last week we also had rumours about Resident Evil 8, coming from AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, and he also confirmed this RE4 Remake news reported by VGC, which gives an extra layer of credibility to the story.

Original Resident Evil 4 was released back in 2005, and it's Capcom’s highest-rated game of all-time on Metacritic, with an average score of 9.2 and  7.5 million copies sold on all available platforms. The game is almost universally praised amongst fans and remaking it will be a hard job to do, especially since it is already considered a masterpiece of gaming.
