The latest iteration of PlayStation's State of Play event just concluded, bringing us a healthy mix of new game announcements and updates for existing ones.

From a high-octane story trailer for God of War Ragnarok to the teaser of the new action RPG from the team behind Nioh games, the latest State of Play had something for everyone. If you missed out on the showcase, or just need a recap, here's everything that was part of the latest State of Play event.

The latest State of Play showcase featured ten games, seven of which were new announcements.

Tekken 8

 

After a long hiatus, Bandai Namco is back with the eighth mainline entry in its highly popular fighting game series - Tekken.

Tekken 8 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC with next-gen visuals and running at 60 FPS. Bandai Namco has confirmed that the cinematic reveal trailer was running in real-time. 

Like a Dragon: Ishin!

 

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is a full-blown remake of the 2014's Yakuza game that was never released outside Japan.

 Like a Dragon: Ishin! is the first game from RGG studio built on Unreal Engine 4, so expect better textures and overall visuals.

Like a Dragon: Ishin launches in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Enhanced Edition

 

The 2020's single-player VR game, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, is coming to PS VR2 in 2023.

According to the game's official description, "Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge - Enhanced Edition lets you become the hero of your own thrilling adventure, allowing you to play your way with different difficulty levels, combat weapons, and within immersive tales that show how the actions of one person can change the galaxy."

Demeo

 

Demeo is a table-top RPG coming to PS VR 2. No release window has been confirmed as of this writing.
According to the game's official description, "Enjoy the magic and camaraderie of gathering around a tabletop with friends to do battle against the forces of evil with four complete adventures, six hero classes, and more to come!"

Pacific Drive

 

Pacific Drive is a new first-person spooky survival game where you drive around in the pacific northwest region of the United States. According to the devs, it's a "run-based first-person driving survival game."

It launches in 2023 for PC and PS5. No other platforms are confirmed as of this writing. 

Synduality

 

Synduality is a post-apocalyptic anime/mecha game with survival elements. It's coming in 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

According to the game's official description, "Embark on a brand new dystopian journey with a Magus, your AI partner, and explore the post-apocalyptic world of Amasia. Armed with your mech, compete for resources, avoid the rain, and reclaim the ground humanity has lost, in a future where humans and AI must find a way to work together."

Hogwarts Legacy

 

The upcoming open-world action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy was also part of the latest State of Play showcase.

The new story trailer revealed a new spooky side quest that is exclusive to the PlayStation consoles.

Stellar Blade (Project Eve)

 

Previously known as Project Eve, Stellar Blade is an upcoming sci-fi action RPG from Shift Up Corporations. The combat is a mixture of quick hack and slash attacks with an emphasis on countering and dodging. 
Stellar Blade is a PS5 console exclusive and will release sometime in 2023.

Rise of the Ronin

 

Rise of the Ronin is an action RPG from Team Ninja, the studio behind the beloved Nioh games and the upcoming Wo Long: Final Dynasty. It is a PS5 console exclusive and will release sometime in 2024.

According to the game's official description, "It's darkest before dawn. In Rise of the Ronin, you will explore an evolving world as you fight to forge a new era for Japan. You are a Ronin, a warrior free from all masters and bonds and as your destiny intertwines with story characters, take part in an immersive combat focused action experience."

God of War Ragnarok 

After a long wait, Sony Santa Monica revealed a new trailer for God of War Ragnarok to close off the latest State of Play event. god of war ragnarok

The three minutes long story trailer reveals some of the new characters, locations, and boss fights you will encounter in this sequel to 2018's God of War.

God of War Ragnarok launches on 9th November 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
