Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart - How to acquire and upgrade Mr. Fungi

Sometimes the best way out of a pickle is with a distraction.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart - How to acquire and upgrade Mr. Fungi

Have you found yourself getting overwhelmed when dealing with too many enemies in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart? Are your weapons just not dealing enough damage for you to take on multiple enemies at once? If this sounds at all relatable, then you might want to look into buying Mr. Fungi.

Mr. Fungi is a weapon in Rift Apart that doesn’t act like any other gun. It has barely any power or range but still costs a fair amount of Bolts (3,000). Why? Because it can help get you out of a sticky situation better than almost any other weapon in the game, excluding the RYNO

Essentially, the gun acts as a distraction. It shoots out objects that distract enemies so much that they forget about you for a brief moment. This allows you to shoot at them unimpaired or gives you time to reload. Acquiring Mr. Fungi isn’t too difficult but upgrading it is a whole different story.

The only way to acquire Mr. Fungi is to purchase it from Rift Apart’s resident weapon vendor, Ms. Zurkon. She can be found on the planet Corson V. Mr. Fungi costs 3,000 Bolts, which isn’t too steep as long as you’re somewhat far in the story.

Once you have Mr. Fungi, your next move is to upgrade it. This is done through Raritanium, which is one of Rift Apart’s most valuable resources. Raritanium is a blue metal that can be found on any planet, even the starting one. It will stick out of crates and can be acquired by simply smashing your hammer on the crate.

After you’ve acquired enough of the rare metal, you can upgrade Mr. Fungi enough that it becomes Ms. Fungi. This makes the weapon an even better distraction.

The weapon is more of a gimmick than anything but can be useful in the right situation. Also, the trophy “Life of the Party” requires you to shoot 50 Mr. Fungis from the weapon. So any trophy hunters will need to get their hands on the gun.
