Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - How to unlock the Shifty Character trophy

Shifty Character is perhaps the hardest trophy to unlock in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart but not when you have our handy guide.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - How to unlock the Shifty Character trophy

By simply looking at the full trophy list in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, many players would assume that earning the Platinum Trophy was going to be a walk in the park. Most of the trophies revolve around automatic story missions or finding collectables all throughout the world. That’s nothing to an experienced Ratchet & Clank player.

However, the player base is quickly discovering that the Platinum trophy isn’t as simple as first thought. There’s one trophy, in particular, that seems to be tripping players up more than others. That would be the Shifting Character trophy, which requires players to collect all Blizon Crystals.

This might seem like an easy task, as many crystals are given to you automatically throughout the story. As many have found out though, this just isn’t the case.

Finding Blizon Crystals in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

There are 30 total Blizon Crystals in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. To earn the Shifty Character trophy, you need to collect all 30 of the crystals. Around 80% of these crystals are given to you by simply playing through the story and completing objectives.

However, there are a few that you need to pick up by yourself and two specifically that can cause the Shifty Character trophy to become impossible.

The two crystals in question are located during the Rail Grind sequence on Blizar Prime. During this objective, you need to collect the crystals before they complete the objective. If you don’t, then the Shifty Character trophy cannot be completed. This is because after you complete the Rail Grind objective, you won’t be able to go back on it again in that playthrough.

Even if you come back to Blizar Prime after defeating the story, the rail grind is inaccessible. There are some tricks you can use with platforming but these aren’t 100% guaranteed to work.

If you want to know where the missable crystals are or how to possibly get back after the story is completed, check out the video below from PowerPyx

The morals of the story with the Shifty Character trophy is to scoop up any Blizon Crystals the second you see them and the Platinum Trophy isn’t too simple in Rift Apart.

Hopefully, this guide will help Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart players unlock the Shifty Character trophy. Good luck!
