Polish studio Rebel Wolves has officially confirmed the release title of their upcoming dark fantasy RPG on social media. The studio, which was formed in 2022, comprises industry veterans and former CD Projekt RED staffers, including game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who also worked on Cyberpunk 2077 before his exit.
The studio released a press release in February 2023, detailing that it was "built on the foundations of fairness, teamwork, and openness. Unified by the mission of putting the team first—ALWAYS—they believe that happy people create great games as they endeavor to revolutionize the RPG genre with their first project," which they now confirm the title is Dawnwalker.
As the studio aims to develop its "own AAA IP, story-driven RPG saga for PCs and next-gen consoles," there hasn't been much information about Dawnwalker since its announcement and, recently, its title; they also confirmed the game will be entirely built using Unreal Engine 5. With the intention "to revolutionize the RPG genre," they're "developing a video game we'd like to play in a way that games should be made," according to Tomaszkiewicz in the same press release.
In a separate press release via Game Informer, he later added that the studio hopes to "craft a world that you will want to explore and dive deep into and tell stories that make you care about the characters. We aim to deliver an experience that will allow for a variety of choices and room for experimentation when replayed."
With the official title confirmed and the game logo still a work in progress, that's all the information Rebel Wolves have shared online. The studio also included some artwork wallpapers to give players a sneak peek into what the studio is currently working on, with additional information likely to be revealed at a later stage.
