Roblox is the most loved game in UK, USA, and 21 other countries

In many ways, video games have become the most influential and immersive medium of entertainment. With every new console generation, video games strive to not only be more inclusive in their representations but also more accessible to a wide array of audiences.

For example, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us 2 featured over 60 accessibility options, allowing people with hearing, vision, and motor disabilities to experience the game. These AAA budget, accessible and inclusive games play their part in making the industry more popular and, in the process, provide a glimpse of what this medium is capable of.

Some games provide players a platform to create their own miniature worlds, reflecting a different level of potential from what the gaming industry currently holds. Roblox is one such game, and if a new survey is anything to go by, it's also the most popular game across the UK, USA, Canada, and plenty of other countries. 

Roblox is the most loved game across the world

A new survey from StudentBeans suggests that Roblox is currently the most loved game across the UK, USA, Canada, with over 124 million monthly searches made. The survey is an accumulation of data points such as monthly searches, Reddit/Twitter mentions, Twitch viewers, as well as total earnings. 

According to the study, Roblox is also the most popular game across the UK, USA, and Canada. Of 24 qualifying countries, Roblox is the most google searched game in 21 of them. In the UK, there have been about 3,350,000 searches on an average in a month, whereas in Canada, there are about 2,240,000 searches. It's a whole different story in the USA, with over 13,600,000  average monthly searches.

This might come as a surprise to some, given the similar raging popularity of Epic Games' Fortnite and Mojang Studios' Minecraft. 

Fortnite is the most popular game in the world

Interestingly, both Fortnite and Minecraft are not far behind in regards to the title of the most loved game. As far as the most popular game is concerned, Fortnite seems to have claimed that crown with over 8 million mentions on Twitter since its launch back in 2017.

With over 30 million searches, Fortnite is unquestionably the most popular video game franchise as of 2022. It's also one of the most commercially successful video games ever made, making over $16 billion in revenue in its first 5 years of operation.

Another big franchise that continues to make its mark in the gaming world is Pokemon. Despite being 26 years old, the Pokemon franchise continues to have a strong presence in the market, with successful new releases every few years. According to this survey, Pokemon is currently the second most successful video game franchise in the world, garnering well over $100 million in revenue.

Minecraft's social stats aren't too shabby either, carrying over 50 million Youtube searches every month. According to the same Student Beans study, Minecraft has the third biggest fan base in the world.
