Sonic Frontiers Soundtrack Wins Award

Sonic Frontiers has won the CEDEC 2023 Sound Division/ Excellence Award.

The CEDEC awards first began in 2008, and are a Tokyo-based awards ceremony dedicated to awarding the very best video games. In previous years titles such as Shadow of the Colossus, Ghost of Tsushima, Animal Crossing, and Nier: Automata have won awards at the show, and this year Sonic Frontiers had the distinct honor to win an award specifically for the soundtrack of the game. 

Sonic Frontiers was released in November last year and is the latest 3D game in the franchise. According to developers working on the game, the goal was to set the tone for Sonic going forward and above all else, to iterate on everything that the character has been before. The title was received warmly by critics, though it did face a lot of criticism for various different technical issues.
