Valve's digital distribution platform and storefront, Steam, is no stranger to big numbers. Gabe "GabeN" Newell knows what he is doing, after all. At the beginning of 2024, Steam had a new concurrent user record of roughly 33.7 million, and that quickly broke again, jumping to an average of 35 million during peak hours and coming close to the 37 million mark in June.
Now, the 37 million milestone has been broken, according to SteamDB. To be specific, Steam had 37,266,324 users online simultaneously on 25 August 2024 at 14:00 UTC.
It is important to note that concurrent Steam users are those logged into Steam simultaneously and do not represent users currently in-game. According to SteamDB, the in-game concurrent is roughly 12.5 million peaks, a jump from 10.8 million.
