The Sims 4's latest expansion, High School Years, will allow players to recreate the ultimate teen experience without the cringe. You have the choice to play as the best performing student or the most popular ever to grace the school halls.

The expansion will include several new features to help you get through high school right up to graduation night and dance the night away with friends. We'll look at everything you need about The Sims 4 High School Years, including its release date, platforms, gameplay features, and more.

The High School Years Expansion Pack for the popular life simulation game, The Sims 4, will be available for players to purchase and install on 28th July 2022. The expansion pack is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 & 5, and PC via Steam, Origin, and the EA app for Windows.

As with previous expansion packs, it requires the base game for the new content to be fully functional and available. You can watch the trailer ahead of its global release if you haven't seen what's included in The Sims 4 High School Years.

The Sims 4 High School Years DLC – Gameplay features

Experience or relive the high years in The Sims 4 as you take advantage of your teenage years by being the best or worst student in school. Attend classes, participate in after-school activities, and become popular or not before you graduate.

Players can navigate atypical experiences like making friends and enemies, falling in love, setting trends, or pulling off insane pranks. Your Sim can interact with your teachers or principal, whether it's to congratulate you or get suspended.

As you explore the high schools years, there are plenty of things you can do in-game:

  • Experience high school: From waking up in the morning to the mad rush at the end of the day, enjoy your days at school by meeting up with friends, catching up on the latest gossip, decorating your locker, or chilling in the cafeteria.
  • Iconic teen moments: It's about prom night so prepare for the biggest night of your high school life by attending or skipping classes, joining or starting social clubs and sports teams, and experiencing puberty.
  • Shake things up: High school is about discovering who you are, so determine what you like and dislike, what things you're interested in and establish friendships and relationships.
  • Explore your style: become a Simfluencer by setting new trends, revamping your bedroom and wardrobe, and planning your outfits. You can also make quick Simoleons by selling your outfits by promoting them through the Trendi app.

As you live out the high school years in-game, the experiences of attending classes and socializing with friends won't require a high-performing PC rig. Luckily, with just the minimum system requirements, you can make the most of your schooling years without setting your PC on fire.

  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (1.8 GHz), AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent
    • With built-in graphics chipset: Intel Core 2 Duo (2.0 GHz), AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 (2.0 GHz) or equivalent
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6600, ATI Radeon X1300, Intel GMA X4500 or equivalent
  • DirectX: Version 9
  • Storage: 17 GB of available space
