Twin Peaks Co-Creator Consulted On Link's Awakening

This is a headline I'm sure nobody expected to see but it's been casually revealed on Twitter by the co-creator of Twin Peaks that he consulted on The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening during development.

It's been known for a while that Link's Awakening took inspiration from Twin Peaks, but it's completely fresh information that the actual co-creator of the show, Mark Frost, helped during the ideas stage of the development of the game. In the past, the director of the title Takashi Tezuka spoke during an Iwata Asks about the inspiration behind the game, saying:

"At the time, Twin Peaks was rather popular. The drama was all about a small number of characters in a small town... so when it came to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, I wanted to make something that, while it would be small enough in scope to easily understand, it would have deep and distinctive characteristics."

Join us tomorrow as it's revealed that Yellowjackets and Succession were actually key to the development of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
