What is WoW server population in May 2022

World of Warcraft has been around for 18 years and continues to go strong with a regular fanbase and newly added content. The realms or servers in WoW vary from one another and can affect how you play with others.

With the announcement of the next expansion, Dragonflight, servers have seen a slight increase, inactive players. Before starting your next character, be sure that you choose the right realm to populate. Many servers are labeled as full, which means it might require a wait time to log in.

WoW Server Population

All the realms population for mainstream World of Warcraft is currently 5.8 million active monthly players. This is a slight increase, but the active population has been decreasing over the past few months.

Here are the best servers based on the active population for each region. These realms don’t only boast some of the most activity, but they also rank high because of endgame content progression and PvP leaderboards. 

• Outland - EU Alliance 11,750 Active players
• Tarren Mill - EU Horde 42,000 Active players
• Proudmoore - US Alliance 17,500 Active players
• Illidan - US Horde - 18,500 Active players

Sometimes you might not be looking for the most active realm but one that suits your playstyle. Here are the best servers based on playstyle.

European:

• Ravencrest - Alliance PvE
• Draenor - Horde PvE
• Ravencrest - Alliance PvP
• Kazzak - Horde PvP
• Argent Dawn - Alliance RP

North American:

Don’t feel too discouraged if you already have a character on a realm that’s not as active because you can still join friends and other players if you have their Battlenet ID or Real ID. Players can quest and participate in normal and heroic dungeons and raids.

WoW Classic Server Population

With the Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta, there’s never been a better time to join a Classic server. WoW Classic servers are either high in activity or have little to no activity. These are the most popular Classic servers.
