Microsoft has announced a new Xbox 20/20 campaign, designed to show off different aspects of the Xbox Series X line-up every month.
Xbox Series X exclusives to be shown in July as Microsoft plans big reveals every month

Set to start with this week’s Inside Xbox showcase, Microsoft has announced plans to have digital events and announcements every month in the run up to the Xbox Series X.

While it was unclear how the promotional run for this year’s next-gen consoles would pan out with the virus outbreak, Microsoft has been surprisingly transparent and outlined its announcement plans.

In a new blog post, the company stated: “Started with the May 7 episode of Inside Xbox, we will be showcasing what happens next in the world of Xbox, every month, which is why we’re calling it ‘Xbox 20/20.’

“These monthly moments will take place throughout the rest of the year and will be a way for us to engage, connect and celebrate with you about what’s in store for the next generation of gaming, including what’s next for Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud.

"Every month will bring something different.”

They also outlined some of their plans in advance, explaining how the upcoming Inside Xbox showcase on Thursday will focus on third-party games, specifically mentioning Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

They’ll also confirm which titles will utilise the Smart Delivery feature, allowing players to upgrade from Xbox One versions to the Xbox Series X for free.

A presentation planned for July will be dedicated to Xbox exclusives, where we’ll likely see titles like Halo Infinite and Hellblade 2.

There’s no mention of when we’ll hear about a price for the Xbox Series X, although considering they omit plans for the month of June - it’s likely they could be keeping their cards close to their chest until Sony announces their PS5 showcase.

Microsoft did however reinstate they intend to launch Xbox Series X and Halo Infinite "this holiday", in light of speculation over whether the consoles could be pushed back until next year due to the virus outbreak.

Microsoft’s Inside Xbox event will be streamed Thursday 7th May at 8am PT/4pm BST.
