Zenless Zone Zero Closed Beta test – How to join, register, start time and more

Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse has finally provided the first glimpse of its upcoming action RPG Zenless Zone Zero after weeks of teasing. Alongside this announcement, the developer also explained how players could register for its forthcoming Closed Beta.

Unlike Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero features a futuristic sci-fi setting in which the civilisation has been destroyed by a supernatural disaster called the Hollows. Although different, it's evident from the game's first trailer that it carries the DNA and signature style of HoYoverse, so if you're excited already, here's how to register for Zenless Zone Zero's upcoming Closed Beta test.

How to register for Zenless Zone Zero Closed Beta test?

To begin the registration process for the Zenless Zone Zero's closed beta, head to the game's official website and click on the "Sign Up" column. You have to enter your email address alongside the verification code to start a survey, registering you for the beta test.

Unfortunately, Zenless Zone Zero's Closed Beta test survey will ask many questions, so the process could take a while to complete this registration. As of writing, HoYoverse hasn't revealed the dates, times and platforms the closed beta will occur; however, the survey shed a little light on what fans could expect from Zenless Zone Zero during the beta test.

Various questions in the survey are about players' familiarity with popular JRPG franchises like Nier, Nioh, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Persona and Monster Hunter. Interestingly, the survey is also keen on players' interest and past experiences with rogue-like games like Hades, Dead Cells, and more, which means that Zenless Zone Zero could also implement similar gameplay elements.

The questions certainly indicate to interested players what Zenless Zone Zero is striving to be, which should be exciting to see. Suffice to say, its cyberpunk setting is highly reminiscent of similar games like Astral Chain and Scarlet Nexus, with a fast-paced, fluid real-time combat that seems like a mix of Genshin Impact and the Nier and Dark Souls series.
