Warframe is a vast and complex game with a decade's worth of quests, weapons, locations, and mechanics to explore and get acquainted with.

Unfortunately, like most live-service games that have been around for a long time, Warframe does a poor job of welcoming new players to its ever-evolving sci-fi universe.

If you're new to Warframe and are wondering how to complete one of the prerequisites for the Mars-Phobo Junction, which includes opening Void Relics, you're in the right place. Here's how to open Void Relics in Warframe.

Before we get into the details of how to open Void Relics in Warframe, it's essential to understand what Void Relics are and what they are used for.
Simply put, Void Relics are materials that can drop Prime Warframe blueprints and Forma blueprints. It can also drop Ducats, a currency used to purchase Prime Components from the Void Trader.

You can open Void Relics in Warframe by completing Void Fissure missions. These are like alternative modes of existing missions with an additional objective. You can access them via the Star Chart like any other mission in the game. Simply hover over to one of the nodes on the planet, and look for the Void Fissure symbol next to it.

Do note that only one to five Void Fissure missions are available at a given time, and they are easy to miss, so look carefully for the node with the Fissure symbol.

Upon starting a Void Fissure mission, you will get the option to use a Void Relic. The rewards you gain at the end of the mission will depend on the quality of the Void Relic you use, so pick wisely. You can also choose not to use any Void Relic and still participate in the mission, though you won't get any designated rewards from it.

In a Void Fissure mission, your main objective is to collect Reactants. These Reactants are actually Void Traces, which you can use to refine Void Relics (more on that later.) These are dropped from the corrupted enemies patrolling the area. Collecting 10 Reactants will crack the Relic you used and offer random possible rewards at the end of the mission. Cracking Relic also provides a random buff to one of your gear pieces. Once you have completed the general objective, head to extraction to complete the mission.

You can use the Void Traces to refine Void Relics in your ship. Doing so will increase its chances of dropping better rewards like Prime Warframe blueprints.
