Update: Please find the latest blog post from Activision explaining more about the new Battle Pass system here.

Instead of going from Tier 1 to Tier 100 in order, the new Call of Duty Battle Pass system, starting with Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 01, provides players with the freedom to unlock what they want, when they want.

The developers are introducing a "brand-new iteration" of the Battle Pass. This comes with a "host of innovations." This comes in the form of a Battle Pass map for Warzone 2 and MW2, where you can choose to unlock, for example, one of the new Functional Weapons or a specific blueprint or an Operator you find most appealing.

It is about giving players more choice than ever before, across over 100 unlocks in the new Battle Pass system. Learn more about the Battle Pass map and sectors in the next section.

From new Operators to blueprints, weapon unlocks, emblems, Calling Cards, and much more,  you can unlock a tonne of rewards in the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 01 Battle Pass.

This Battle Pass will take the form of a map with 20 Sectors. Each of these Sectors has five items. Players will need to level up to earn Tokens, which can be used to Unlock a new, adjacent Sector or more items in the current Sector.

Activision explains: "Instead of a linear stream of tiers set out in a scrolling row along the bottom of your screen, your Battle Pass takes the form of a multi-Sector map. Players will unlock items using earned Battle Token Tier Skips across this map, which is themed within the current season. Each map has at least 20 Sectors with five items in each Sector - tokens can be used to either unlock adjacent Sectors or earn more items within an unlocked Sector."

If you see a Sector in the Battle Pass map that you are particularly interested in, unlock it first and then start unlocking the items within.

So there you have it, everything we know about the new Battle Pass system in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. We will endeavor to update our readers once all the rewards for Season 01 get revealed.
