The recent CODNext event has delivered a wealth of new information about the Call of Duty franchise, including the highly anticipated Black Ops 6 and, equally exciting, updates for Warzone. As many fans know, each time a new COD title is released, Warzone gets an update alongside it. This time, Warzone will see the return of one of the franchise’s most iconic maps – Verdansk.
While the details surrounding Verdansk’s return to Warzone remain somewhat unclear, we do have some insights from the CODNext event. So sit back and relax as we guide you through everything you need to know about the return of Verdansk in Call of Duty Warzone.
Developers Confirm That Verdansk Will Return to Call of Duty Warzone
Warzone players have wondered for quite some time about the return of the iconic Verdansk map, and while rumors have been circulating for the past few months, we had no solid lead to go off until now. The developers have announced that to celebrate the battle royale’s fifth anniversary, Verdansk will indeed be making its comeback.

The announcement of the map’s return at CODNext was a surprise, and while a specific release date wasn’t given, it was stated that Verdansk would be returning around Spring 2025. However, with the anniversary being celebrated around March 10, we expect the map to be released around then, especially since this date would fit nicely before Season 2 Reloaded, which aired on March 6 this year.
Now, while we know that Verdansk is coming back—and that is exciting in and of itself—we don’t have much information about how the map will be regarding its setting and any changes since previous iterations. The map could receive a 1990s-themed makeover to align with the setting of Black Ops 6, or it might incorporate various elements from its past versions, such as the nuked elements from the Cold War era.
At this point, there just isn’t enough information to draw any conclusions about the map’s content and features. However, regardless of which version of Verdansk we get, fans and content creators will undoubtedly be “eating good” when it is released. You can be sure that we’ll cover it every step of the way up until its release, so be sure to check back here soon for more Verdansk news in Warzone.
