Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has gone through a lot of changes ever since the game first launched. From the introduction of DMZ mode, its rotation of weapons, to the rollout of new maps. The latest content update, Season 4, is showing no signs of slowing down.
Part of the new Season 4 content for Warzone 2 includes a brand-new map called Vondel. While the map offers brand new POIs for players to do battle on, upon death they’ll eventually wind up in a new Gulag — but not immediately. Here, we’ll go over everything we know about the new upcoming Gulag coming to Warzone 2.
Warzone 2 To Get New Gulag In Vondel
Activision has given us a lot of information about what’s coming to Season 4 of Warzone 2, including a glimpse at what to expect from new map Vondel. The map will be available with the launch of Season 4, but only for DMZ and Resurgence modes at first.
Eventually, the new map will be available in the traditional Battle Royale modes, featuring a brand new Gulag. The Vondel Gulag is in a subterranean location that is in the more medieval parts of the map.
When Season 4 launches, Vondel will have Resurgence, DMZ, and Lockdown LTM as the playable game modes for this map. But when is the new Gulag coming to Warzone 2?
When Is Battle Royale & Gulag Coming To Vondel In Warzone 2?
As we said, Vondel will be immediately available at the start of Season 4 of Warzone 2. But Vondel will not have Battle Royale mode to start which means no new Gulag immediately, either.
Vondel will be getting the Battle Royale game mode during Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded, the game’s mid-season content update. In Warzone 2, the Reloaded season usually comes with a bunch of new features and updates, typically occurring 4 weeks after the launch of a new season. With Battle Royales coming to Vondel in Season 4 Reloaded, that means the new Gulag is coming then as well. So players will have to wait until Season 4 Reloaded to see the new Gulag. There is no official release date for Season 4 Reloaded at the time of writing.
Although it is not official news, the new Gulag has actually been leaked recently. In a recent Reddit post, we can see the layout of the new Vondel Gulag. We can see that the new Gulag looks very similar to the layout of the Verdansk Gulag from the original Warzone.
