Wild Rift Nasus build guide: Best runes, spells, items, tips and tricks, more

League of Legends: Wild Rift has launched in more competitive regions, drawing millions of new and veteran players to a more versatile yet exciting MOBA experience on mobile devices.

Mastering the game's champions, just like in League of Legends, is key to success in Wild Rift and we have been putting together build guides for some of the game's most powerful since its wider release.

This time, we will dedicate ourselves to talking about one of the oldest champions in the game being originally introduced all the way back in October 2009, and yet despite the passage of time has continued to dominate the top lane: Nasus, the Curator of the Sands.

Nasus: His active and passive skills

His passive ability, Soul Eater, grants him additional physical vampirism, allowing him to regain life with each hit from the start of the game.

Let's move on to his active skills:

  • Siphoning Strike: When activated, it allows him to get stacks of attack damage for it, every time you eliminate any target, from minions, champions, monsters and even structures.
  • Wither: Allows you to mark an enemy, which will have their attack and movement speed reduced for a few seconds.
  • Spirit Fire: When activated, it will summon a spirit symbol that deals magic damage and temporarily reduces the enemy's armour.
  • Ultimate - Fury of the Sands: Nasus will transform into his ancient form, granting him additional health, armour, magic resistance and attack range, as well as dealing damage to enemies around him, and reduces the cooldown of Siphoning Strike.

Recommended Runes and Spells for Nasus

Nasus's composition allows him to transform into an unstoppable monster during the course of a game. Thanks, in part, to the amount of life and attack damage he can accumulate, which is why we have chosen runes that focus on complementing these natural attributes:

  • Grasp of the Undying: Allows him to deal more damage and gain passive healing while in combat. Useful for short fights in the lane phase and long duels at the end of the game.
  • Gathering Storm: Grants bonus attack damage as time passes, which is perfect for Nasus' scalable nature.
  • Spirit Walker: Grants additional health and slow resistance.
  • Sweet Tooth: Grants bonus healing and gold when eating Honeyfruit.

Being played aggressively in the top lane, your options for spells are as follows:

  • Flash: Allows you to disengage and escape fights that are out of your control or when you are outnumbered.
  • Ghost: Unlike Flash, Ghost will be used completely in the attack, allowing you to take full advantage of his Ultimate and take any enemy without them escaping.

The best items for Nasus

As for the objects for the Shuriman guardian, it will be necessary to find a balance between offence and provide resistance for individual and team battles, always focusing on the mid and late game:

  • Trinity Force: The quintessential item for Nasus, thanks to all the siege and offensive stats it gives him, beyond its possible high cost.
  • Sterak's Gage: Grants additional health and a passive shield, which gives Nasus an advantage in fights, allowing him to stay in fight longer with a great chance of emerging victorious.
  • Guardian Angel: This reviving passive allows you to fully attack squarely, without risking giving away a kill along the way.

While its key items are well defined, you will have two options to nurture its defence, whether you want to focus on increasing your armour or your stamina, but feel free to combine both types of items for special occasions.

  • Armour: Ninja Tabi with Teleport Enchant, Dead Man's Plate and Thornmail.
  • Magic Resistance: Mercury Threads with Teleport Enchant, Spirit Visage and Adaptive Helm.

Additionally, you can rotate the damage-focused items by swapping them for Iceborn Gauntlet, Death’s Dance, or Mortal Reminder.

Tips for Nasus’ play style

Right out of the box, your approach with Nasus for the early game should be just one: Take out as many minions as possible using Siphoning Strike. This is mandatory for this champion, as this skill is his best weapon for the fight.

Doing this will allow you to take full advantage of the amount of damage you can do with it from the beginning of the game, and once you are familiar with his farming style, you can get some of the key items for your composition, faster than your enemies.

However, don't be too confident to play passively or push without vision, as opponents could take advantage of this and catch you off guard. For these types of cases, always have his Wither on hand, which will give you a greater escape window in case of ambushes.

When it's time for team engagements, focus on giving the initiative to attack, so enemies will be distracted or focused on you, which will give your allies the opportunity to enter more safely, since the enemies have expended their abilities on you.

Now, in case of having a great lane advantage, Nasus can be the cornerstone of the game either by rotating, or pushing the lanes and destroying structures alone and without problems, if you have a lot of stacks in his Siphoning Strike and an advanced composition of objects.

Finally, Spirit Fire can make it easier for you to clean up waves of minions, in addition to allowing you to harass enemies from a distance in the face of confrontations, where with his Ultimate you can be the catalyst for the destruction of your opponents, opening up a direct path to victory.
