The World of Warcraft (WoW) Classic era continues with the Cataclysm expansion set to release in “the first half of 2024,” and players can already purchase upgrade packs (Blazing Heroic and Blazing Epic).
It is, however, important to note that you do not need to purchase a WoW Classic Cataclysm upgrade pack to play the expansion on Classic servers once it is released. You only need an active subscription with game time!
We outline both the Blazing Heroic and Blazing Epic upgrade packs for WoW Classic Cataclysm below, including their price and content in both Classic and Modern WoW realms, so let’s jump in.
WoW Classic Cataclysm Blazing Heroic Pack
The price of the WoW Classic Cataclysm Blazing Heroic Pack upgrade is $29.99. It includes the following:
- Avatar of Flame Flying Mount
- Runebound Firelord Flying Mount for Modern World of Warcraft Characters
- Lil’ Wrathion Pet
- Lil’ Wrathion Pet for Modern World of Warcraft Characters
- Twilight’s Hammer Regalia Transmog Set
- Town-In-A-Box Starter Set Toy
If you want to go one step further and open your wallet with meaning, then there’s the Blazing Epic Pack upgrade, which is $50 more expensive than the Heroic Pack.
WoW Classic Cataclysm Epic Pack
The price of the Cataclysm Blazing Epic Pack upgrade is $79.99! It includes the following:
- Avatar of Flame Flying Mount
- Runebound Firelord Flying Mount for Modern World of Warcraft Characters
- Lil’ Wrathion Pet
- Lil’ Wrathion Pet for Modern World of Warcraft Characters
- Twilight’s Hammer Regalia Transmog Set
- Town-In-A-Box Starter Set Toy
- Level 80 Character Boost
- 30 Days of Game Time
As you can see, the $50 increase from the Heroic to Epic upgrade is due to a level 80 character boost and the addition of 30 days of game time. No additional cosmetics are found in the Blazing Epic upgrade pack.
You can purchase either of these upgrade packs via the Battle.net store to add them to your account right now!
In case you’ve missed it, you can watch the WoW Classic Cataclysm announcement trailer featuring Deathwing’s mass destruction and chaos.
Since you can play WoW Classic Cataclysm when it releases without purchasing an upgrade pack, it really comes down to each hero of Azeroth to decide if the asking prices for these upgrade packs are worth the money.
